Or Start From a Specific Line
Post-Plot QC - Attributes vs SP
Load acquired sequence files (P1/90, P1/11, raw P2/94 or raw P2/11) to extract per-shotpoint attributes and graph them against SP. P2/94 adds streamer depths, pitch/roll/heave, gyro/network observations and GPS heights; P2/11 adds gun depths/pressures/timing, MRU, gyros and GPS heights (auto-grouped by node). Files are processed locally - nothing is uploaded.
QC limits (optional, per survey specs):Out-of-spec shots flagged red on graphs
No post-plot files loaded.
Fold of Coverage - CMP Bin Maps
Builds CMP fold maps from P1 shot (S) + receiver (R) records, or a synthetic survey from Design showing fold at a target depth (path method: Snell default). Offset quarters: nears / near-mids / far-mids / fars / alls. Files processed locally.
Synthetic survey → fold at depth
Asks for a velocity field (when needed), then builds image points at depth Z. Path method defaults to Snell’s law; straight-ray and classic CMP are also available. Planning fold — not NORSAR illumination.
Specular image point via Snell’s law through V(z).
No velocity field confirmed yet
Coverage plot limit:
This session can process up to 16 GB of P1 / fold data unless you upgrade.

Origin/orientation left blank are taken from the first file (first midpoint / line azimuth). The grid locks after the first file - Reset Fold to change it.
No fold data - add a P1 file with receiver (R) records.
Ray Tracing — OBN / Water Column
Acoustic paths from a source to seabed nodes through a velocity field. Path method defaults to Snell’s law (also: straight ray, classic CMP travel times).
Water-column only — not subsurface illumination (NORSAR / ACTeQ Z-Design). Use for OBN travel times and path visualisation.

Mackenzie (1981) approximate sound-speed vs depth for the water column down to node depth.
Bottom depth (m) and P-velocity (m/s) per layer, top to bottom.
No rays yet — place a source and nodes (or Import OBN / Generate patch), then Trace Rays.
Vertical profile (offset vs depth)
Travel-time table
Rays coloured by travel time on the map (hover for TT). Profile shows depth downward. Critical / turning rays that cannot reach node depth are skipped and counted. Chunked tracing keeps the UI responsive on large OBN patches.
3D ray tracing (NORSAR-class) — GPU job quote
Water-column Snell tracing stays in the browser. 3D illumination through a user velocity model runs on hired GPU, not this planner host.
Pick the algorithm, enter the survey metrics, and we estimate GPU time and a one-off quote — typically far below a yearly 3D modelling seat.
Algorithm
You must provide — 3D migration aperture
This is the half-width of the 3D migration operator at target depth (metres), from your processing spec — not the sail-line length.
The velocity model and GPU volume must extend this far beyond the image area on all sides, or edge bins lose dip and illumination is wrong.
If the spec gives a max dip instead, enter the angle and we convert: aperture ≈ Z × tan(θ).
Enter the aperture from the processing spec, or a max dip to suggest one. Quote is held until aperture is set.
Products included: first-arrival travel times, illumination / hit count at target, incidence at image points, QC plots. You supply the velocity model plus 3D migration aperture; we do not store the model on the planner VPS.
Enter the 3D migration aperture (required) plus area and metrics, then calculate. Quote is a one-off GPU job (A100-class + operator), not a yearly 3D modelling seat.
NOAA weather
Public-domain NOAA fields (GFS wind, WAVEWATCH III waves/swell, altimetry currents, MUR SST). Point values at map centre; overlays refresh as you pan.

Free coastal feeds
Digitraffic (Finnish/Baltic) + Kystverket Norway open AIS. Pan the map into those waters to see traffic.
Seismic fleet
Worldwide offshore seismic ships are mostly beyond coastal AIS. Mapping the global working fleet needs paid satellite AIS (e.g. Kpler / MarineTraffic). Free feeds only catch them when they are in Nordic/Baltic coverage.
User-defined drawings and imports. Select a layer below or double-click it on the map to change colour, outline weight, and labels.

Line Manager
Review preplot lines below. Mark acquired or partial lines to exclude them from routing. Add infill lines if needed.
Right-click a line for more options
Priority (1–100):sets the acquisition order — lower numbers are acquired first, higher numbers last. 50 = Neutral (default). E.g. a line set to 1 is shot before all others; a line set to 100 is left until the end. Within the same priority the planner still optimises transit time.
Infill Lines
Add infill lines between existing lines to fill coverage gaps.
