Summary

A demonstration North Sea ocean-bottom node patch: generate receiver and source preplots, keep turns outside infrastructure and MPAs, then export a plan the vessel and GIS team can open.

Responsibilities

Define patch geometry, line spacing and shot interval for OBN source lines
Load marine layers (infrastructure, cables, MPAs) against the same map as the preplot
Run obstruction-aware route search with a minimum turn radius
Estimate duration and cost from the resulting sail order
Export KML / Shapefile / GeoJSON for client and contractor GIS

Outcomes

Single map holds preplot, route and constraint layers — no split between “design” and “nav”
Turn geometry stays outside exclusion zones instead of being cleaned up after export
Sample P1 path in the planner so newcomers can open a real North Sea-shaped job
Exports match the on-screen plan (KML, Shapefile, GeoJSON)
