North Sea OBN preplot and route plan
Summary
A demonstration North Sea ocean-bottom node patch: generate receiver and source preplots, keep turns outside infrastructure and MPAs, then export a plan the vessel and GIS team can open.
Responsibilities
- Define patch geometry, line spacing and shot interval for OBN source lines
- Load marine layers (infrastructure, cables, MPAs) against the same map as the preplot
- Run obstruction-aware route search with a minimum turn radius
- Estimate duration and cost from the resulting sail order
- Export KML / Shapefile / GeoJSON for client and contractor GIS
Outcomes
- Single map holds preplot, route and constraint layers — no split between “design” and “nav”
- Turn geometry stays outside exclusion zones instead of being cleaned up after export
- Sample P1 path in the planner so newcomers can open a real North Sea-shaped job
- Exports match the on-screen plan (KML, Shapefile, GeoJSON)
